The Reshaping Of Sound is an independent music label and music publisher based in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. Owned and operated by instrumental downtempo/hip hop producer Marc Jensen, The Reshaping Of Sound is a platform for him to release his solo and collaborative music projects, as well as projects by other artists. Several of the songs released on The Reshaping Of Sound are new works created by sampling Marc's own music, which is where the idea for the name of the label originally came from.
The influences, inspirations and aesthetics of this label, from artwork to music, can be traced mainly to three things (which overlap themselves already in numerous ways).
1 - All styles of sample-based hip hop
2 - Library/production music from the 60s/70s (KPM, Select Music, Flipper etc)
3 - Hip hop-influenced instrumental electronica (chillout, downtempo, lounge, trip hop etc)
